We’re excited to announce that the 44th Annual Hair of the Dog Run is officially live! Every New Year’s Day, runners and walkers from across the city head to the Beaches to kick off the year together along our iconic boardwalk, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome everyone back for 2026.

This year, we’re offering two participation options:
Run/Walk + Chili Lunch
Warm up after your race with our traditional chili lunch served in the Balmy Beach Club’s main hall upstairs.
Run/Walk Only
A streamlined option for those who prefer just the run. Includes access to bag check and washrooms directly from the boardwalk. (Please note: this option does not include access to the Balmy Beach Club building.)
Your Run Supports Local Athletes
Every registration directly supports the Balmy Beach Canoe Club’s amateur paddlers, from developing youth to competitive athletes. Funds raised help cover equipment needs, coaching resources, training opportunities, and program support, ensuring we can continue building strong, healthy, and connected paddlers in our community.
By joining the Hair of the Dog Run, you’re not just starting your year with a great tradition — you’re helping our athletes chase their goals on and off the water.
