2026 Hair of the Dog Run

44th Annual Hair of the Dog, New Year's Day Run: Start your Year off on the right foot with our 9k Run or 3k Walk at the Balmy Beach Club on New Year's Day. Register online today and help support Balmy Beach Canoe Club's local amateur athletes.

This year, participants can choose between two registration options:

1. Run/Walk + Chili Lunch: Enjoy our traditional Hair of the Dog experience: complete your run or walk, then warm up with a hearty chili lunch served upstairs in the Balmy Beach Club’s main hall.

2. Run/Walk Only: Prefer a simpler race-day experience? Choose the run/walk-only option, which includes access to bag check and washrooms directly from the boardwalk. Please note: this option does not include access to the Balmy Beach Club building.
