BBCC's Youth Sprint Program, formerly Canoe Kids, is a half-day summer paddling program for athletes aged 8–14 who want to learn sprint canoe and kayak in a supportive, team-focused club environment. The program introduces athletes to a lifelong sport while building confidence, skills, and a sense of belonging on the water.
Youth Sprint is designed for athletes who enjoy being active, working as part of a team, and trying something new, whether they are brand new to paddling or returning with previous experience.

What is Youth Sprint?
Youth Sprint is an introduction to sprint canoe and kayak, similar to how children are introduced to sports like hockey, soccer, or rowing. Athletes learn proper paddling technique, boat control, and water safety while training alongside experienced coaches and athletes in a real club setting.
Athletes paddle a variety of boats throughout the summer, including:
-
Single, double, and four person kayaks
-
Single, double, and four person canoes
-
Team boats such as C15s and Dragon Boats
The focus is on skill development, teamwork, confidence, and enjoyment of the sport.
