Youth Sprint
U14 Development
Our Youth Programs introduce athletes to sprint canoe and kayak in a supportive, team-based club environment. Through the Youth Sprint Program, athletes aged 8–14 learn paddling fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence on the water while staying active and engaged throughout the summer.

For athletes ready to take the next step, the U14 Development Program offers increased training opportunities alongside Youth Sprint, with additional sessions focused on technique and racing preparation. Together, these programs provide a strong foundation for long-term participation in the sport.

Our Performance Programs support athletes who are ready to commit to regular training and competitive racing. Athletes train in both individual and crew boats, representing Balmy Beach at divisional, provincial, and national-level competitions.

This pathway includes U14 Development athletes transitioning into higher training volumes, as well as High Performance athletes (16+) pursuing advanced technical, physical, and competitive goals under the guidance of experienced coaches.

Masters
Our Adult Programs are open to paddlers aged 25+, from beginners to experienced athletes. Adults who are new to sprint canoe and kayak start in our Learn to Paddle program, a short, structured introduction focused on paddling fundamentals, equipment, and on-water safety.

After completing Learn to Paddle, participants can join our Masters Program, where adults train in a welcoming club environment focused on fitness, skill development, and teamwork, with flexible attendance and opportunities to race at the Masters level.

Special Olympics Programs

The Special Olympics Paddling Program offers athletes a fun, supportive, and challenging experience on the water. Athletes develop paddling skills and confidence while having opportunities to participate in local, provincial, and national Special Olympics competitions.

The program is open to athletes of all experience levels, from those new to paddling to returning competitors. Supported by knowledgeable coaches and volunteers, athletes train in a safe and inclusive environment with access to adaptive equipment as needed, ensuring everyone can participate fully.
