Executive Board Elections

The Executive Board of the Balmy Beach Canoe Club is made up of volunteers: parents of paddlers and adult paddlers over the age of 18. There are six elected positions on the Executive Board, and each one is responsible for an area of running our Club.

The following positions are up for election this year, per Article 6 of the Constitution. The Nominating Committee has submitted the following nominations:

1st Vice Commodore – Anne Buckley
Treasurer – Gaynor Reader
Secretary – Rachel Jewell
Rear Commodore – Tara Christie (one-year term)

The following positions are entering the second year of their two-year term and are not up for election this year:

Commodore – Eleanor McIntyre
2nd Vice Commodore – Ed Bodley

Who Can Vote

Elections will take place at the AGM. Any member of the Balmy Beach Club, 16 years of age and over, in good standing as of August 31, 2026, has the right to vote.

Director Positions

In addition to the elected Board, the Executive appoints Director positions. Directors are voting members of the Executive and include roles such as Marketing & Communications and Volunteer Coordinator. Any open Director positions will be appointed once the new Board is in place, and each one is a chance to play a substantive role in running our club.

Please consider whether you would like to contribute as an elected Board Member or a Director. If you think someone else would be effective in one of these roles, please suggest it to them.

Nominations for an elected position or a directorship can be made by contacting a member of this year's Nominating Committee:
