Join our Bantam and Under 14 years old program.
This program runs year-round on and off the water. Small group, after school paddling sessions from May through to October with a variety of games and exercises all year.
Moving off the water, we transition to a multi-sport program to further develop our young athletes for all sports and activities. Activities include: Swimming, Body Movement and Calisthenics, Running, Games, and more!
$1300 + HST (includes racing fees and boat storage)
Winter Training $800 + HST
The Development Program is an introduction to competitive canoe and kayaking. It is designed for paddlers ranging from the 14 to 19 years of age who have less than three years of competitive experience.
The paddling season runs from May to October. There are approximately 6-8 practices per week. This program is focused on developing the physical, mental, and psychological aspects of athletes as they transition into more competitive phases of their athletic career.
This program will support the continued development of proper canoe/kayak technique, general and sport specific conditioning, team boat skills, and racing performance skills. This program will also develop positive teamwork, competitiveness, commitment/goal orientation, confidence and sport character behaviours.
Off water summer training includes running, soccer, dry-land games, plyometrics, medicine ball workouts, and weight training.

*Athletes 19+: Balmy Beach Club membership is mandatory for this age group (in addition to paddling fees).
The High Performance Program is designed for experienced paddlers ranging from U18 to Senior Levels (15 years of age and up).
This program is aimed toward those training with aspirations of making the National Team and World Class Levels.
Summer practices take place Monday through Saturday, twice daily with one morning off per week (ten to twelve sessions per week).
Off-water summer training includes running, soccer, medicine ball workouts and weight training.
This program has 11 training sessions per week, consisting of kayaking/canoe on-water and ergometer machines, swimming, weights, circuits, running, hills, plyometrics, mental skills, stretching, core strengthening and other dynamic exercises relating to sprint canoe/kayak performance.
This program is ideal for athletes aged 14-19 years of age in the 'Train to Train' and 'Train to Compete' stages of the LTAD model.
Swimming and calisthenics training will be held at Malvern Collegiate Institute and all other sessions will run from the main Balmy Beach Club private paddling training facility.
Selected athletes will also attend the Provincial Development Camp in Florida during the month of March.
