Claudia and SiulimanFor the first time in 111 years of history of the championships, races were included on Day 4 for competitors with physical and intellectual disabilities and clubs with entries were eligible to win championship points based on the results of those races. Balmy Beach had two participants competing in races classified as legs/trunk/arms (LTA) and together they won a silver medal in a Mixed K-2, 200 metre event.

Womens C4In addition to all of the excellent results we experienced all kinds of weather over the four days. The winds were consistently strong but changed direction each day and the temperature reached 35 degrees on Day 3. Some of our paddlers missed or failed to finish races due to injury, illness and schedule conflicts but everyone who went to Regina raced at least once and all enjoyed the experience of competing against the best in Canada.

Congratulations also go to our Head Coach, Peter Martinek and his coaching team for their hard work and superior instruction which enabled our paddlers to achieve such great results.
