The Balmy Beach Canoe Sports Summer Day Camp once again offers a full day program with each week offering different co-operative games and activities to provide variety to our campers, many of whom attend the camp for more than just a week.
All staff members are university students from the Beach neighbourhood who bring a wide variety of experiences and interests to the camp. Many have previously been employed at "up north" residential camps and their enthusiasm, love for children and quality programming have built the solid reputation of the camp. Specialty "on water" staff are qualified in Coaching and CPR and are licensed for motor boat operation.
More information about the Camp, and what your child should bring with them, can be found here.
NB. The Club will issue a Federal Children's Fitness Tax Credit for all children 16 or under, according to the terms of the program.

The Balmy Beach Canoe Club Counselor in Training Program (CIT) is for motivated 13-15 year olds to gain valuable on-the-job experience over a two week period of time. Participants will gain skills working with campers and by "shadowing" staff. Leadership, responsibility, organizational skills, program planning and delivery, and resume composition will be the focus of the program. The second week will focus on the application of learned skills and our CIT's will plan and deliver an afternoon program with the assistance of camp staff.
CIT's receive a certificate of completion at the end of each session.
Hannah Bird will be heading up the program this year with the support of our very talented group of counselor's, many of whom have themselves participated in CIT programs at other camps. More information about the program and what you need to bring with you, can be found here.
This program qualifies for the Federal Government Children's Fitness Tax Credit.

Application Form for the CIT Program
Balmy Beach has a long history of accommodating the special needs of individual athletes where the burden of paying membership fees may prevent them from participating in a program. These situations are handled on a case by case basis and should be discussed with the Head Coach, the Commodore or the Registrar directly
